Women’s star and set piece specialist Shannon Evans wins Club Goal of the Season…
After impressing a whopping 41% of Bluebirds supporters, Cardiff City Football Club is proud to announce that Shannon Evans of Cardiff City Women’s team has rounded off the 2014/15 campaign by taking the title of “Club Goal of the Season”.
Shannon’s incredible free kick against Aberystwyth Town Ladies, was the winner of March’s Goal of the Month Competition and was also voted as ‘Goal of the Season’ at the Women’s Awards Evening last month.
Having fought off competition from Alex Revell and Etien Velikonja amongst the seven other nominations in contention for the accolade, Shannon now joins Thomas Waite from Cardiff City’s Disability sector and Roudell Enel Tan from 1MCC in Malaysia as the competition’s winners since its inception in 2013.
Speaking on her achievement, Shannon said; “I was so happy to win the competition back in March, and now to take the season’s title as well, I’m over the moon.
“Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me - it’s an amazing knowing that so many people have seen my goal…and liked it enough to vote.”
