Cardiff City's U19 side bowed out of the FAW Youth Cup on Thursday night at Landore Training Ground, with Swansea City progressing following a hard fought in tough conditions.
Due to the extreme weather, this third round tie was moved onto a 3G surface with the climate not letting up throughout a rain soaked first-half. The hosts entered the interval one-goal ahead, a Kyle Copp free kick skimming off Ashley Baker and into the back of the defender's own net.
The Bluebirds tried to fight back into the match in the second period with conditions slightly brightening but went further behind just after the hour mark as Brandon Griffiths increased Swansea's advantage with a well taken low finish past Scott Coughlan.
Despite their best efforts, the young Cardiff players were unable to find a way past a determined Swansea side on the day, with the hosts adding a further goal one minute into added on time. Joe Rodon with a placed header.
