Ahead of Friday evening's trip to play Birmingham City at St Andrew's, Russell Slade held a pre-match press conference previewing City's Sky Bet Championship fixture.
Following the 3-2 home victory over Brentford, the manager stressed the importance of City continuing to improve and build momentum over Christmas and the New Year.
“The last batch of games have been tough as we’ve played against teams in and around us," began Russell. "Birmingham are one of those too. They’ll be looking for a win as well as they haven’t had one in a few matches.
“Gary Rowett will have them organised and we know it will be a tough place to go, as it always is. However, we’ll go into the match looking to pick up more points.
“I still think there’s more improvement to come and that we’re capable of more. In a sense that’s a good sign as it means there’s more progress to be made.
“The festive period is important as anybody that can put a run together, creating a little bit of momentum with three or four wins on the bounce are going to find themselves in a really good position coming into the New Year.”
