Five top facts about City's latest Cardiff City signing

Following the confirmation on Wednesday that Spanish forward Javi Guerra will join Cardiff City Football Club from July 1st, we bring you a top five list of facts for you to get to know City’s new front man.

1 – Javi Guerra scored as many goals as Gareth Bale in La Liga in the 2013-14 season, with his 15 goals in 37 appearances ranking the 32-year-old as the joint-ninth top scorer last season. That’s two more than title winning Atletico Madrid’s David Villa.

2 - Javi’s surname ‘Guerra’ translates to ‘War’ in English. The City striker will be up for the battle in the SkyBet Championship for the 2014-15 season.

3 – The Spanish frontman started his career at Barcelona based Espanyol and has also played for Granada, Mallorca, Alaves, Levante and Valencia in his native country.

4 – Guerra missed just one game of Valladolid’s 38 game La Liga season, a 2-2 draw with Elche in February. The Spanish forward made 149 appearances for the club in all competitions in total, scoring 72 goals.
