Defender says Bluebirds fate will remain in their own hands

"You can forget what that winning feeling is like sometimes. Being in that dressing room after the game on Saturday and the way that that felt, makes us determined to feel it again. That comes with hard work, but we're ready for it.”

"The next two games [City take on Liverpool at Cardiff City Stadium on March 22nd] we will need to be firing on all cylinders and we'll need things to go for us on the day if we're going to get points from them. A win in football, when you're in the position we're in, it can be massive.

"We needed the points first and foremost and it also gives the squad a whole new lease of confidence going into the last nine.

And Ben highlighted the impact Saturday's win could have on the trip to Everton as well as the remaining games of the season, adding: "With 10 games to go and the situation that we're in it was vital to beat Fulham.

"But it's about performing and we don't want to be coming off the pitch many times between now and the end of the season having lost games and dropped points where we shouldn't have. You never look at a fixture and say 'we can't get anything here'. You can always get something if you set up right and have the luck on the day.”

"Everyone at the club wants to remain a Premier League footballer and to do that we have to perform as a team on the pitch to get the points,” said the 25 year-old. "We know that we can actually do it, we know that there's a good enough foundation within the team and the squad to get the points that we need.

Victory at Goodison Park on the weekend could lift the Bluebirds out of the relegation zone going into the final eight games of the season – a target that Ben believes is very much in sight.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær's men trounced bottom side Fulham 3-1 at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday, with Ben's defensive partner and team Captain Steven Caulker inspiring the side with two well-taken goals.
