O'Sullivan nets second goal in two games in narrow defeat
Three of Cardiff City’s Academy prospects played the full-90 minutes of Wales Under-19s narrow 3-2 defeat to Portugal in the UEFA Under-19 elite qualifiers.
Having picked up a goal in Wales’ opening draw against Belgium last week, Tommy O’Sullivan netted a second in as many games against Portugal with an 80th minute goal bringing the scores back to 2-2 in Portugal, only for a last minute winner from Rafa claiming all three points for the hosts.
City’s Tom James and Josh Yorwerth were also involved, with all three playing the full 90 minutes for the impressive young Welsh side.
Despite no longer being able to win the group and qualify for the final tournament, Wales could grab a second placed finish with a strong performance against Greece in Povoa do Varzim on Monday, 2nd June (kick-off 7pm).
