Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that Spanish defender Juan Torres Ruiz Cala has officially joined the club on a two and a half year deal.
Juan joins the club having previously played for La Liga side Sevilla. The 24 year old centre-back becomes Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s seventh signing following the arrival of Magnus Wolff Eikrem, Mats Møller Dæhli, Jo Inge Berget, Kenwyne Jones, Fabio da Silva and Wilfried Zaha.
A Spanish under-19 International, Cala joined Sevilla in 2000, progressing through the club’s youth system. He made his senior debut for the La Liga side in 2009 in a 1-0 win over Rangers in the UEFA Champions League.
Cala has since made 32 appearances for the Spanish club in all competitions, spending a season-long loan spell with AEK Athens in 2011-12 season, only to be recalled by his parent club in January. Before joining Cardiff City, he made 15 appearances for Sevilla in the 2013/14 La Liga season, scoring in his last outing in a 2-1 win over Villarreal.
Now at Cardiff City, Juan has been assigned squad number 27 and is available for immediate Premier League squad selection.
All at Cardiff City welcome Juan and wish him every success in the Welsh capital.
