FA CUP R3: CARDIFF CITY v COLCHESTER UTD

Cardiff City Football Club were drawn to face Colchester United in the third round of the FA Cup on Monday night. The Cardiff City Stadium fixture, The U's first competitive visit to the venue will take place the first weekend of January 2015.

Colchester United are currently 22nd in League One, with the two club's last meeting in the 2007/08 season. That year City drew the away fixture 1-1 and won the Ninian Park fixture 4-1. On that day Steven Thompson, Peter Whittingham, Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink scored for the Bluebirds, added to by an Adam Virgo own goal.
