City take on Chelsea for the first time since they met in a 2010 F.A Cup tie in West London. Prior to the weekend’s fixture, the Clubs hadn’t faced off in League action since March 1984 when they played out a 3-3 draw in what was then Division 2.
Speaking ahead of the game Craig said: “We’ve obviously looked at Chelsea, we know what we’re up against and it’s going to be tough. Chelsea away will always be a tough fixture, but we’ve no excuses regardless of who we play.
“I didn’t train with the players yesterday as I was continuing my recovery from being away with Wales. But preparations have been the same as they always are and the players seem completely focused as always.
"Our Manager won’t let players get away with anything. You have to perform or you’re coming off at half time! The pressure is on us to play.
“The Gaffer has taken us on to another level and we have to keep performing. We’re changing and trying to improve and that’s all been down to him.
“The stakes are a lot higher this season. Being in the Premier League is a completely different animal – this is the greatest League going.”
