GIRLS FUTSAL & EDUCATION PROGRAMME
Cardiff City FC Community & Education Foundation is providing current year 11 and 12 females with a fantastic opportunity to access a first class education within a professional sporting environment, based at our state of the art House of Sport 2 facility.
The Education and Futsal Scholarship is first and foremost an educational programme, and this is reflected in the 81% of learners who have already applied for and secured University places for the 2013/2014 academic year.
As part of the two year course, candidates will be provided with the opportunity to complete the following:
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Performance & Excellence)
This 18 Unit, three A Level equivalent qualification encompasses a wide range of sport related units including Psychology for Sports Performance, Sports Nutrition and Fitness Training and Programming to name a few. The qualification is also very well recognised amongst Universities in the UK or abroad, with past learners gaining access to top UK universities and also scholarships in the United States.
An added bonus of the BTEC is that all assessments are assignment based and so there will be no stress placed upon the learners to revise for or sit formal examinations.
NVQ Level 2 in Activity Leadership
The Edexcel Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Activity Leadership (QCF) is designed for those working in, or aspiring to work in, activity leadership, including people accessing the associated apprenticeship framework.
The qualification requires individuals to demonstrate competence against National Occupational Standards, which are based on the needs of the sector as defined by SkillsActive, the Sector Skills Council. As such it contributes to the development of skilled labour in the sector.
As part of the course the candidates are also provided with the unique opportunity to participate within a full technical coaching programme dedicated to the game of futsal, and in addition compete in fixtures against premier league and football league clubs, universities and colleges.
The technical elements of the programme prove a useful tool in developing the technical, tactical and skills based elements of the girls 11-a-side game. National governing bodies in recent years have utilised the game as a tool to do this, particularly during the winter months.
and will in no way affect the girls training or participation for club sides.Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pmThe programme itself runs
