Scotland draft in the Don

Don Cowie has been called up to represent Scotland this week for the World Cup qualifying match against Belgium on Tuesday night.

The Cardiff City midfielder linked up with his International team-mates in the Welsh capital on Sunday after receiving the news on Saturday night. Don has made ten appearances for Scotland and replaces injured captain Scott Brown.

The Scots will be hoping for a positive return against the in-form Belgians, a win or a draw at the Baudouin Stadium against the group leaders potentially helping both Scotland and Wales. Following Friday’s late Gareth Bale winner Wales face a similarly difficult challenge away in Croatia, who are currently behind Belgium on goal difference in Group A.
