Malky Mackay spoke to press on Friday morning regarding his side’s game with Leicester City.
In reference to the clash with Nigel Pearson’s team, the Gaffer said: “It will be a very tough game. Leicester are a club that have had strength now for two or three years and have been adding players without having to let their top players go.
“They have been building a strong squad for three years and have a very experienced manager, a manager that I have a lot of respect for and one who does his job well. We are going up their knowing it’s going to be a really tough game for us.”
City are joint top goal-scorers in the Championship with thirteen different players hitting the back of the net this season.
“Often, if a club stops one individual from scoring then that team doesn’t score. That isn’t the case for us.And Malky isn’t worried by the fact that none of his players have hit double figures yet, adding:
“You’d always love your forwards to score twenty goals apiece but it very rarely happens. There’s usually one or two who manage it in the division. We’ve got goals from various departments and that can only be a good thing for your club. At the moment we are joint top goal scorers in the division and I cannot be complaining about that.”
